What is LEED™ ?
LEED™ (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is an internationally recognized green building certification system, providing third-party verification that a building or community was designed and built using verifiable “green” strategies. LEEDTM rated projects improve performance in metrics such as energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, improved indoor environmental quality, and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts.
Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), LEED™ is intended to provide building owners and operators a concise framework for identifying and implementing practical and measurable green building design, construction, operations and maintenance solutions.
How can TerraLogos help your project team with LEED™?
TerraLogos: eco architecture, pc (TL) manages the process throughout the entire design and construction of the project. Our process called the TL LEEDTM Management Plan© is designed to follow the normal workflow of an architectural design project. Our goal is to guide the project team to a successful LEEDTM rating. TerraLogos serves as the team’s resource, trainer, coach, and gatekeeper for all things LEEDTM and for information on sustainable design, site development, and green building practices.
We manage the LEEDTM process through our customized documents. We use these documents to communicate with the team, track progress, and keep the project team coordinated through a LEED Kick-off Workshop and (5) LEED Coordination Meetings conducted at key milestone dates throughout the project. We also work with the Architect to develop a schedule for the LEED TM process and distribute the schedule to the project team.
LEED™ is a front-end loaded process and requires a great deal of coordination and commitment from the project team through the entire project as we together:
- Explore alternative options
- Process paperwork
- Provide documentation to verify credit compliance.
TerraLogos and the USGBC defines the Project Team as including the Owner, the Architect, all consultants, and representatives from the construction team that ideally work together in a collaborative and integrated manner. Successful LEED™ projects require that the Project Team integrate strategies and engage in active coordination of information between the disciplines and consultants.
LEED™ can become a very cumbersome and frustrating experience if the project team does not cooperate, work together, and return requested documentation on time and accurately completed. Delivering information in the format requested is critical to achieving a LEED™ rated project. TerraLogos has over 15 years experience in LEED management projects with a specialty in schools, institutional and commercial projects.
TerraLogos offers LEED™ Coordination during Construction
TerraLogos offers LEED™ management and coordination for construction projects. We work for you, saving time and money on LEEDTM projects. We work to your schedule and budget on all project types, serving General Contractors, Owners, Construction Managers and Builders.
Services provided on monthly retainer, hourly consulting and as lump sum fees. Most LEEDTM construction credits should be submitted within 3 months of construction completion. We are certified MBE/WBE in Baltimore City, MD, VA & PA and a certified SBE in Maryland.
